Press Kit: May 15th Press Conference at Casa Jalisco, San Jose, Ca.
Inicia Tu Negocio is a non-profit organization that supports Hispanic entrepreneurs in the Bay Area by offering an inexpensive course in creating realistic and useful business plans. Our first course graduated 35 students, including Luz Diaz, who opened El Rincon Tapatío, a food cart that was funded and permitted less than 10 days after completing the final class. Inicia Tu Negocio’s second course will begin May 22nd at Casa Jalisco, 320 S. First Street in vibrant downtown San Jose. The course costs $10 per class for 12 weeks and will meet from 9am to 11am or from 5:30pm to 7:30pm, Wednesdays only.
According to figures from the most recent census, Hispanic-owned businesses are an important cornerstone in the American economy, providing economic development and jobs while promoting the values of self-reliance and community building. Inicia Tu Negocio provides formal business training that gives our clients important information that allows their new businesses to satisfy legal requirements, obtain necessary funding and begin their work.
Ms. Diaz completed the paperwork for licensing El Rincon Tapatío before completing the course and submitted the business plan required to obtain funding for her start-up two days after completion. We are proud of her success and look forward to working with new and hopeful Hispanic entrepreneurs in the coming weeks. We can be reached at our Facebook page Inicia tu Negocio.
